Who turns on the foot vents while running the AC? I thought that the common practice was to only run the dashboard vents, but my wife often does the former and thinks nothing of it.

my mom does it because she doesn't like the air in her face for some reason.

I do it on long drives. It does a good job of keeping the ambient temperature constant without fiddling with the dash vents or HVAC controls themselves.

I split it between foot and dash vents most of the time.

I run both the foot vents and the dash vents. When you feet smell as bad as mine does you need all the ventilation you can get.

Plus you gotta keep the feetsies cool too.

If it's warm and I'm wearing closed shoes, I'll sometimes turn them on temporarily to get the feet cooled down.

My grandparents do the opposite - they put the AC through the defrost, it's less direct that way.

I guess I have special feet that are self-regulating. When the air in my face gets too cool, I just point the vents away from me.

I'm the same way, I could do either and get the same result

My feet often get cold so no. I just point the dash vents up and away, while keeping the temperature auto.

Plot twist: Sometimes on a cool night (40F+) I like to drive with the windows down and heat on full blast.

I have actually done this before.

I do get mix when the car has the option. My feet get warm too, why should my upper body get all the attention?

My feet sometimes sweat, so I usually use both feet and dash vents. I also sometimes use just feet if it's available on longer drives so I don't have to adjust the temperature later (defrost sucks in outside air so I don't like using it unless I need to).

I usually only go foot vents for everything. Or foot vents and Defrost for heat.

I do. I also didn't discover until recently, you can leave the control knob halfway between the dash vent and floor vent settings and it will do both.

I mess around until I'm happy. Fuck everyone else, I'm the one driving (note: I have the same rules about the radio. The wife is missing 3 fingers on her right hand). If I need to 'feel ' cool, I run max and the tops. If I am trying to regulate the vehicle, I may do all of them, unless I am in non hot footwear, then who knows. I'm fickle. Or complex. Or just fuck off alright? And don't touch the damn buttons! !!
